Swarming and hibernation of bats in scree fields and talus slopes
Legát, Jakub ; Lučan, Radek (advisor) ; Andreas, Michal (referee)
This literature review attempts to summarize the knowledge on swarming of temperate bats. It focuses on the characteristics of the term swarming and the history of research on this behaviour in the Czech republic and worldwide. It describes in some detail the species that participate in this behaviour, defines the period when bat swarming take place and discusses the factors that influence this behaviour. The second part of the paper summarizes information on swarming and hibernation of bats in scree fields and talus slopes. However, there is very little information to date on whether and in what quantities bats use this habitat during swarming and hibernation period. This thesis discusses existing surveys on this issue and is designed as a theoretical overview for the field research that author intends to undertake during his master's degree.
Laboratory and image spectroscopy for mapping of selected rocks in peak areas of the Krkonoše Mountains
Kubečková, Jana ; Kupková, Lucie (advisor) ; Potůčková, Markéta (referee)
Laboratory and image spectroscopy for mapping of selected rocks in peak areas of the Krkonoše Mountains Abstract This thesis deals with geological mapping of selected rocks in peak areas of the Krkonoše Mountains. Four areas of interest were situated in two parts of Krkonše Mountains - on the west side it is the area of Vysoké kolo and Harrachovy kameny and on the east side there is the area of Sněžka and the area of Kozí hřbety. The main data were acquired by the hyperspectral sensor APEX. Ground spectral measurments of selected rocks and block fields were executed and the laboratory spectral measurments of geological samples and lichens were executed. Practical part aims at classification of rocks and lichens in selected areas using four classification methods: SAM, SID, MESMA and LSU. The spectral library is one of the outputs of this thesis. This spectral library contains the spectra of pure rocks and lichens and mixtured spectra of rocks and lichens. The output of this thesis is the comparation of used classification methods, the analysis of spatial and geological accuracy and evaluation of lichens influence on the classification results, spectral library and maps of classified rocks occurrence. Keywords: classification, block fields, hyperspectral data, spectral mixture, lichens, The Krkonoše Mountains
Spatial distribution and morphometric features of blockfields in southern part of the Brdy Mts.
Hotový, Jan ; Křížek, Marek (advisor) ; Dlabáčková, Tereza (referee)
This paper deals with a topic of blockfields in southern part of the Brdy Mountains. The aim of this work is to describe an origin of the block fields generally, characterise their spatial distribution, morphometric and structure features, including their specific thermal regime. Another task is to characterise and classify the block fields in the southern part of Brdy Mts and compare them with the similar accumulations described in literature. 30 block fields were identified in this area. Morphometric analysis based on digital elevation model revealed that block fields in the southern part of Brdy Mts are sized roughly from 200 to 5 500 m2 and occur mostly at 725 - 750 m a. s. l. on steep or very steep slopes with a prevailing southern- -west and west exposure. An additional exploration of a bedrock confirmed that block fields here consist of conglomerate and silicite rocks. The results provide information about paleoclimate of Brdy Mts and their surroundings. Key words: block fields, Brdy Mountains, frost weathering, morphometric characteristics
